Many things in the kitchen have medicinal uses. Something as simple as the oatmeal can actually be used as an acne reducing mask. If you want to try a homemade acne mask, simply combine a half cup of quick cook oats with enough honey to make a pastel. Apply gently to your face and then allow it to dry for about fifteen minutes. Once it has dried, you can remove the mask with a wet wash cloth. As you remove it, you should gently rotate the cloth in tight circles over the surface of your face. This procedure will allow the oatmeal to exfoliate your skin.
If you are unlucky and have inherited an oily skin gene, your hormones are all over the place and you are stressed, then the result can often mean acne. If you are producing more sebum (oil) than can be dealt with by the skin then often your pores become clogged, red and angry and infected. To help prevent this happening you should exfoliate using a very gentle product.
So how does one actually go about "DISRUPTING" this insidious cycle of acne?... By using creams, lotions, ointments, masks? ... Well, that's one way. I call that surface-to-surface contact. For a percentage of acne sufferers, it'll work. It does interrupt -- not disrupt -- the acne cycle somewhat, but only at the surface. For many acne sufferers however, it does little good.
